Post-doctoral Fellow in DNA damage response and repair

Description

The DNA repair and genomic stability laboratory of Joanna Loizou at CeMM seeks a highly motivated, efficient and ambitious postdoctoral fellow. The focus of the group is to understand how DNA damage is signaled and repaired, in physiology and disease (http:\/\/cemm.at\/research\/groups\/joanna-i-loizou-group\/publications\/).

\n

The Project

\n

You will lead and drive a project focusing on the DNA damage response and DNA repair, in the maintenance of genome stability. In particular, the project will focus on the identification of regulatory factors and pathways for DNA repair (Moder et al, 2017; Mazouzi et al, 2017), and will leverage cutting edge technologies in the fields of next generation sequencing, chemical biology and proteomics. This project fits in with the overall group aim to understand how DNA repair pathways function to prevent disease.

\n

Your Profile

\n

You should have obtained a PhD (acquired by the start date) in the relevant subject area and have knowledge of molecular and\/or cellular biology. Previous experience in the field of DNA repair and peer reviewed first author publications are an advantage for this position. You love to communicate, to collaborate, to connect with different scientific disciplines and to contribute to multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
