Tissue culturist (hybridomas)

We wish to recruit a proactive and highly motivated Tissue Culturist with experience in culturing antibody-producing lines. The job will involve the revival and securing of cryopreserved stocks of hybridoma lines and their subsequent distribution to academic depositiories and/or commercial entities. The successful candidate will work to test of cell lines for antibody production by using various techniques under laboratory conditions. The jobholder will be responsible for the propagation and maintenance of selected cell lines in a tissue culture environment.

The ideal candidate must have a BSc (or equivalent) in biological sciences. A PhD in biological or biochemical subject would be desirable. The successful candidate must have experience in tissue culture and with western blotting. Experience in culture of antibody-producing hybridomas and with ELISAs are highly desirable. The position requires excellent organisation skills and attention to details.

This is a limited term appointment with funding for this post expected to be available for a period of one year.
