Edith Heard appointed the new Director General of EMBL
Edith Heard was appointed the new Director General of EMBL starting in January 2019.
The EU-LIFE community is extremely proud of this appointment and will be looking forward to collaborating further with Edith Heard in her new role!
A leading scientist in cell and developmental biology, Edith Heard is Director of the Genetics and Developmental Biology Unit and leader of the Mammalian Developmental Epigenetics team at the EU-LIFE partner Institut Curie. She is also Professor of Epigenetics and Cellular Memory at the Collège de France.
“My colleague and friend Edith Heard will be taking the position of director of the EMBL starting in 2019. This is a wonderful choice, and an honor for the Institut Curie to contribute with a wonderful member of our community to the future of a key European Organization.
