The EU-LIFE Postdoctoral Exchange Programme was launched today!

The recently created EU-LIFE Postdoc Initiative launches today the Postdoctoral Exchange Programme, which offers postdoctoral researchers from EU-LIFE institutes the possibility to present their work to leading research groups and principal investigators within the alliance. This is a great opportunity for early-career researchers to visit an institute in a different country, showcase their research, develop professional relationships and build up international networks.

“Invited seminars and research visits provide crucial networking opportunities, but early-career researchers often fall by the wayside for lack of funding as they are still developing their network. That's why the EU-LIFE postdoctoral exchange program aims to empower postdocs to independently undertake such visits in view of networking and future career planning," said Stijn Hawinkel, member of the EU-LIFE Postdoc Initiative and postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Plant Systems Biology, VIB (Belgium).

The EU-LIFE Postdoctoral Exchange Programme is the first joint activity organised by the Postdoc Initiative, as gaining international recognition is an important step to advance scientific careers. The creation of this group was a bottom-up initiative launched in January 2024 with the aim to facilitate collaboration, communication and mobility among postdocs within the alliance, as well as to enhance their involvement in research policy.
