Epigenetic firmly advancing towards systems biology
The final meeting of EpiGeneSys, the ambitious EU-funded initiative on epigenetics advancing towards systems biology, was held this week in Paris.
Form 11-13th February, over 280 researchers from around Europe and beyond such as the U.S. and Japan, gathered together at the inspiring Maison des Océans.
The final activity held under the EpiGeneSys label, the meeting aimed at discussing the latest research achievements and providing an overview of all activities over the last 5 1/2 years. This highly successful, EU-funded initiative made also an outlook on the post-EpiGeneSys era and brainstormed on future developments for the network.
As Geneviéve Almouzni, director of the research centre of Institut Curie and coordinator of EpiGeneSys, puts it “We have made a long way during these five years. Building on previous experiences, we consolidated a vibrant community of researchers and made truly interdisciplinary, sound contributions to the field of epigenetics. Let this be the beginning of a new step in our common endeavor.”
EU-LIFE, whose partners are widely represented in the network, is looking forward to the next steps!
