Courses@CRG: Quantitative Light Microscopy Course
This five-day comprehensive and intensive course covers the entire spectrum of bioimaging, starting from the fundamental basics of optical microscopy, instrumentation, specimen preparation, molecular markers, right up to the most recent and revolutionary development in bioimaging and bioimage data analysis, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) based analysis. The course is designed for both novice researchers and as well as those having some previous experience with microscopy and its applications.
The course is composed of interactive lecture series to cover the theory of optical microscopy and its different modalities and applications. During the hands-on practical sessions, participants will have the opportunity to exercise on different types of light microscopes provided by the sponsors, CRG Training & Academic office. The advanced fluorescence and super-resolution microscopy hands-on practicals will be held at the Advanced Light Microscopy Unit (ALMU). Samples will be provided by ALMU and Argolight. Participants would also be able to bring their own samples if they wished to do so, following prior arrangement with the course organizers. Following the bioimage data management and analysis block, participants will have the opportunity to practice bioimaging processing and analysis, including AI-based bioimage analysis tools. At the end of each day, participants will have the chance to put their knowledge to the test with a quiz covering the day's lessons. Prizes will be awarded to the top three scorers, adding an exciting incentive to engage fully in the learning experience.
