Acknowledging and Citing Core Facilities
As an alliance of research institutes advocating for excellent research in Europe, EU-LIFE devotes constant effort to work towards a more inclusive research assessment. Our recent commentary Acknowledging and citing core facilities, published in the Science & Society section of EMBO reports, highlights the importance of recognizing the diversity of contributions to research and the key role of small scale research infrastructures in the production of scientific knowledge.
“Core facilities and research infrastructures are the technological lifeblood for life sciences research and they should be acknowledged and cited for their key contributions. This is an ethical obligation, akin to the rights of co-authorship, and will furthermore ensure the data lifecycle is #FAIR,” said Lavanya Premvardhan, Co-Chair of EU-LIFE Core Facilities Working Group & Core Facilities Coordinator at Institut Curie
